First up, during a commercial break for the American broadcast, international Netflix viewers were treated to an interview between Cathy Kelley and Rey Mysterio, who spoke about Penta's debut, saying "Jackie, I've known Penta for quite some time now, and I've always envisioned Penta's true home to be WWE. Well, he just went out there and proved to me and the whole world why he's here."
Penta apparently went over his alotted time for his debut bout and post-match interview promo, as reported by PWInsider. This forced some other segments to have to be trimmed down, which apparently wasn't received well by some talent. However, it's interesting to note that tonight's episode ended at less than the 3 hour mark, which begs a question of why WWE needed to trim anything if there was still leftover time that could have been used.
— Former UFC Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier was in the house and briefly shown on screen watching the show.
— Oba Femi was also ringside, sporting his newly-won NXT Championship after beating Trick Williams (and Eddy Thorpe) on last week's episode of NXT New Year's Evil.
— Dakota Kai failed to win the Women's Intercontinental Championship, and she was interviewed after the match about her loss, keeping her head up and saying that she is still going to try to win that title.
— As far as next week's episode of Raw, three things were announced. The New Day will be returning to action, though their opponents have yet to be revealed, there will be a "WrestleMania Rematch" with Seth Rollins facing Drew McIntyre following their trash talking segment at the start of tonight's Raw, and John "Bradshaw" Layfield has been announced to be making an appearance of some sort next week. In what capacity JBL will be used is anyone's guess.
