KING AND QUEEN OF THE RING Finals Set Following A SMACKDOWN Full Of Unexpected Twists And Turns

Last night's SmackDown hailed from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and the finals for this year's King and Queen of the Ring tournament are officially set.

In a shocking upset, Nia Jax managed to defeat Bianca Belair (who had been a firm favourite to be crowned Queen). The back-and-forth match ended when Belair's storyline-injured leg was compromised, allowing Jax to hit her banzai drop for the 1-2-3.

Later today, Jax will face rising star Lyra Valkyrie in a match which will see the latter forced to contend with The Irresistible Force. The fallout from this semifinal match led to Belair and Jade Cargill agreeing to defend the Women's Tag Team titles against Indi Hartwell and Candice LeRae.

On the men's side, it was Randy Orton vs. Tama Tonga. The Bloodline member proved himself a force to be reckoned with and received some backup against The Viper courtesy of interference from Solo Sikoa.

Ultimately, Orton prevailed with an RKO, resulting in a dream match at King and Queen of the Ring which will see him square off with Gunter for the first time ever.

It was recently confirmed that the winner of the finals will receive world title matches on their respective brands at SummerSlam in August.

As things stand, that means we're either getting Gunther vs. Damian Priest/Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes or Lyra Valkyrie vs. Becky Lynch/Nia Jax vs. Bayley.
