King and Queen of the Ring wrapped up in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia just a few hours ago. While there was a time when these international PLEs didn't make much of an impact, this one left us with plenty of talking points now Triple H is in charge of creative.
During the Kickoff show, Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill retained their Women's Tag Team Championships in a match against Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell.
The main PLE kicked off with a Women's World Championship match and, despite The Judgement Day's Dominik Mysterio vowing to cost Liv Morgan the victory, he "accidentally" distracted Becky Lynch. As a result, she hit a DDT on "The Man" on a steel chair and followed it with the Oblivion to earn the 1-2-3 and Rhea Ripley's old title.
Sami Zayn retained the Intercontinental Championship over Bronson Reed and Chad Gable when the latter got caught up in an argument with Otis.
Next up was the Queen of the Ring finals; despite an impressive showing from Lyra Valkyria, Nia Jax ultimately overpowered her to be crowned Queen. Is the fact she's The Rock's cousin a coincidence? We'll let you decide.
As for the King of the Ring finals, it looked like Randy Orton had Gunther beaten with an RKO, only for the Austrian to roll him up with a crucifix pin. Orton's shoulder was visibly up and, while it's unclear whether that was a mistake or an angle to set up a future storyline, Triple H has since addressed the blunder (as you'll see in one of the X posts below).
Finally, Cody Rhodes defended the Undisputed WWE Championship against Logan Paul. The United States Champion utilised brass knuckles and the announce table, though the closely fought contest ended with the American Nightmare retaining his title for the second PLE in a row.
WWE has also announced that Clash at the Castle in Glasgow, Scotland next month will be headlined by Damian Priest defending the World Heavyweight Championship against hometown hero Drew McIntyre.
Will CM Punk get involved? It seems likely, though surely WWE will want to put the title on the Scottish Warrior in his home country...
