Earlier this year, it was announced that Kurt Angle will headline this year's Hall of Fame, and while it's believed he'll return to WWE as a wrestler, the focus, for the time being, is on his induction. Forbes recently caught up with Angle to talk about just that, and they started by quizzing the Olympic Gold medallist on who he wants to induct him.
"I would say Austin, Cena, Undertaker and Brock Lesnar are my four picks [to induct me into the Hall of Fame]," he revealed, name dropping arguably his four most noteworthy opponents in WWE outside of Triple H and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Lesnar inducting him would certainly be interesting, though, considering the fact Cena had his debut match against Angle, he would make the most sense of the four. Any one of them would be a big win for fans, regardless!
Asked for his thoughts on Cena and what he's achieved in WWE since that first match, Angle added:
"He has been the staple of sports entertainment for the last 11 years. The incredible thing about John, John has never been known, personally for all of us, as a fighter. He's not a guy who's going to throw fists and mix it up. But what he has been able to endure for 12, 13 years. Nobody has ever done that. John Cena is the man. I don't know anybody else who has gone 13 years on top...I'm not going to say he's was greatest athlete in WWE history, but he will go down as the greatest of all time in WWE history."
That's an argument it's hard to pick fault with, regardless of your thoughts on Cena. If Angle does indeed return to the squared circle following the Hall of Fame, it's possible he could once again come to blows with the face that runs the place and sixteen time world champion, but as always, we're left having to just wait and see!
