Most fans agree that Kurt Angle's final few months in WWE were a disappointment. While he certainly wasn't booked anywhere near as well as he should have been, it was also clear that he wasn't hos old self in the squared circle and that his neck injuries had taken their toll.
Now, during a recent Facebook Q&A, the Olympic Gold Medallist has addressed his retirement and when he knew it was the right time to hang up his wrestling boots.
"I knew I was ready to retire because I felt my body moving slower and I had a lot of joint pain," he admits. "I was ok until I turned 48. Because I was GM of Raw, I was less active in the past 2 years. That inactivity caught up with me. I started getting arthritis throughout my body. It was quite sad. I was invincible for so many years. It was tough to deal with. But I’m ok with it now."
Angle's final WWE match saw him lose to Baron Corbin at this year's WrestleMania. What are your thoughts on his thinking behind his retirement? Sound off down below.
