LA Knight is coming after the Bloodline.
2025 hasn’t been an easy year so far for LA Knight. The WWE star was on track to regaining the United States Championship until Bloodline 2.0 interfered in his match and cost him the opportunity at being a two time champion. Since then, it’s been a war between Knight and the new Bloodline; tonight LA Knight gets a chance at some revenge as he’ll take on Tama Tonga.
Tonga may have not won any singles titles in WWE, but the former WWE Tag Team Champion has plenty of experience as a singles competitor before joining WWE last year. Tonga is notably a four time NEVER Openweight Champion in New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Though Tonga is no Jacob Fatu, he’s still a credible dangerous threat that put Knight on the injured list.
We’re only two weeks away from the annual Royal Rumble and time is ticking for the Cody Rhodes/Kevin Owens feud. An interesting wrinkle was added Monday. Owens had a heart-to-heart with his best friend, Sami Zayn. The self-proclaimed WWE Undisputed Champion knows that Zayn is a good person who will help him win the ladder on Feb 1st. Will Cody respond to Owens’ manipulative tactics on Monday Night RAW? Or will he get a surprise appearance from Zayn that adds more layers to a complex story?
Tiffany Stratton is coming off a very successful title win over Bayley on last week’s Smackdown. With Nia Jax being distracted with Rhea Ripley and the Women’s World title, could a new challenger step up in time before the Royal Rumble?
The tag team title scene is quite messy at the moment. Tommasso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano have been the masterminds behind trying to keep The Street Profits and The Motor City Machine Guns away from their belts, but plans are backfiring thus far. Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin have earned the right to challenge for the WWE Tag Team titles, but tonight’s match is about getting a measure of revenge on the duo that tried to help Los Garza win last week’s No. 1 contender’s match.
Check out the advertised line-up for tonight’s Smackdown:
- LA Knight vs. Tama Tonga
- “Motor City Machine Guns” Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin vs. “Pretty Deadly” Elton Prince and Kit Wilson
