Luke Harper Is Setting His Sights On WWE's Main Event Scene And Wants A World Title Run

Earlier today, we told you that Erick Rowan has been shelved with an injury and in an interview which took place before SummerSlam, his tag team partner Luke Harper made his singles aspirations loud and clear.

After breaking away from The Wyatt Family, Luke Harper had a successful run as a singles competitor, delivering a series of stellar matches with WWE Superstars like Dolph Ziggler and Randy Orton.

However, many fans were disappointed to see him once again teamed up with Erick Rowan to form the Bludgeon Brothers, an entertaining enough team but a waste of Harper's potential. Well, in a new interview, the former Intercontinental and Tag Team Champion has made it clear that he hopes to break into the main event scene because his main goal in WWE is to become the world champion.

"That is 100% my goal [to become a mainstay on the main event scene]. I am dying to be a world champion, a single’s world champion. The taste of it that I got with the Intercontinental title, and the run against Randy [Orton], and stuff like that, I feel like no doubt, I could be there and do it. “I don’t know what the path will be or if that path will ever present itself here or elsewhere, I don’t know, but that is by far my goal. And it’s kind of hard because you think, ‘how hard will it be if that doesn’t happen’ and you kind of have to go back to the things that you enjoy that you do have. But at the same time, yeah, I’m dying to do that. I believe in myself to the point where I can be that guy. And sometimes that hurts being told that by guys like [Edge and Christian] and if you read Twitter and you get told that. Then, you start to believe it too much and it can become detrimental. But at the same time, I believe it in myself."

As of right now, it's hard to see where Harper could fit in the main event scene but there's no denying that he has the potential and talent to head straight to the top of WWE. As sad as it is to say, Rowan's injury could be the best thing that's happened to him and it will be interesting seeing if WWE chooses to repackage him. What do you guys think?
