What's going down next week on the June 3, 2025 edition of WWE NXT? Well, it turns out next Tuesday's episode has some interesting matches on the lineup.
The first match announced during tonight's episode of NXT was that Trick Williams will be defending the TNA World Championship against Mike Santana.
Williams won the title from Joe Hendry at WWE Battleground this past Sunday night. During that event, Santana was in attendance and spoke about how he was going to be coming for whoever walked out of that match with the title, so he's made good on his promise by interrupting a promo Trick was having in the middle of the ring.
Trick was badmouthing the audience for cheering for Hendry, hyped himself up, and also started to rag on previous people who have won the TNA World Championship in the past like Kurt Angle and AJ Styles, saying that none of them compare to him. So much so, in fact, that TNA should be Trick-NA now. Santana went to the ring to flex that he's going to take the title back and help protect TNA.
That is when TNA's Director of Authority, Santino Marella, appeared on the TitanTron to say that he had spoken to Ava and to make it official that next week, Trick will defend the TNA World Championship against Santana.
Another match that was added to the show for next week is Myles Borne against Charlie Dempsey.
In a backstage segment, after Tavion Heights had lost to Santana (another match that had been set up at Battleground), Myles Borne was talking to Heights and giving him a pep talk about putting up a good fight, when Charlie Dempsey and Wren Sinclair walked over to them. Dempsey was condescending about how both Heights and Borne tried to spread their wings and fly out of No Quarter Catch Crew, but they both failed, so it's now time for them to get back to just being part of the team.
Borne said that he's not going to let his loss to Oba Femi at Battleground set him back, and he's not interested in just reverting to what he did before. He wants out of NQCC and to move on. This didn't sit well with Dempsey, who considers himself the leader who calls the shots and that if he doesn't want Borne out, then Borne can't leave.
After Borne challenged Dempsey to a match where if he wins, he's out, Dempsey upped the ante and said that they should make it a rounds match between the two, meaning it will be contested under the rules that the NXT Heritage Cup used to be fought under. Seemingly, Wren Sinclair will be by Dempsey's side and Heights will be by Borne's, but that hasn't been made official.
