R-Truth's return to WWE was cause for celebration among fans and he's since found himself in a storyline with The Judgement Day. The deluded veteran is convinced he's a member of the faction and has gone so far as to sell "bootleg" merchandise (which you can, of course, find on WWE's store).
It's proven to be one of RAW's funniest angles and, last night, Truth teamed with The Miz for an "Awesome Truth" reunion which saw the duo pick up a win over Undisputed Tag Team Champions Finn Balor and Damian Priest.
During a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio, Truth discussed his WWE return and shared his take on why the time he's spent with The Judgement Day has been embraced by viewers.
"I'm genuinely having fun. I'm happy to be back. I couldn't wait to get back," Truth revealed. "Y'all know I [was just] at home for a long time, man. Even my wife and kid were asking me, 'Don't you got a job? Don't you have to go back to work?' I was ready, man. I was ready to get back to work."
"That's part of it, man. The fun is just half of the work. The rest of the work is just making everybody have fun and enjoy seeing you have fun, so they're having fun."
"It was like when they said, 'You're going to work with Judgment Day,' I was like, 'Let's do it. Let's do it. I'm ready. What are we doing?'" he continued. "They could've told me I was working with anybody; I was ready. But, I will say this: The Judgment Day, they all fought for me. I have to say that."
Truth went on to credit Priest with keeping him around and revealed the current Money in the Bank holder may have gone to Triple H with his request. "I will say Damian Priest, he was like, ‘Bro, we should keep you around. This thing is working.’ He actually went to, I think it was Hunter [Triple H] and the writers. Damian Priest fought for it."
