Tonight marks the beginning of a new era for WWE as RAW moves to Netflix. The company is treating the show like a WrestleMania-level event, no great surprise when this is the perfect opportunity to get people talking and win back any lapsed fans.
RAW will take place at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, with roughly 16,000 fans expected to be in attendance for another sellout.
WWE has advertised several matches and segments for RAW, including:
Jey Uso vs. Drew McIntyre
Women's World Championship Match
Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley
CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins
Tribal Combat Match
Roman Reigns vs. Solo Sikoa
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, John Cena, and Logan Paul are all set to make appearances, though we expect there to be at least a couple of surprises.
According to industry insider Dr. Chris Featherstone on X, The Rock's role will likely boil down to a promo as will Cena's. WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan is also expected to show up, while there's been some chatter about Stone Cold Steve Austin raising hell.
Triple H was recently asked how WWE will judge RAW's success without traditional ratings and explained, "Success is going to be deemed by what Netflix believes is successful. It’s a different metric because it’s not just live. It’s live. It’s same day, it’s three-day, it’s seven-day, all of that. It’s all important."
The Game also shared the following when asked how commercials will factor into RAW now it has a new streaming home:
"There’s less commercial time. It’s going to be more manageable, at least for now. Anything can change, but at least for now. I also think this will be a work on progress for us. The formatting is slightly different here. How we work with things is slightly different, so it’s gonna take us a minute also to get to where we feel comfortable and we feel smooth getting in and out of everything and going to where we need to go."
"But I think it’ll be a better experience for people. It’s just a part of what we do. It makes me laugh whenever people say, ‘There’s so many commercials this week.’ Well, same exact amount of commercials we had last week. I’ll give you that maybe we didn’t do as good of a job of managing the time in between the commercials, but it’s the same amount of commercials. We didn’t change anything. The format’s the same."
