Seth Rollins Breaks His Silence On Knee Injury; Believes He'll Be Out For An "Extended" Period

Following a knee injury at last weekend's Saturday Night's Main Event show, Seth Rollins has broken his silence on what happened and shared a belief that he'll be sidelined for the foreseeable future.

At Saturday Night's Main Event, Seth Rollins faced LA Knight in a match that ended abruptly when the current Money in the Bank briefcase holder seemingly injured his knee.

Rollins has a history of knee problems, and while the injury was initially reported as legitimate, there have since been claims that it could be a work (perhaps setting the stage for a surprise cash in at SummerSlam next month).

Talking at the Evolution 2 post-show press conference, Triple H said that initial tests on Rollins were "inconclusive," and confirmed he'd be undergoing an MRI the next night.

Well, Rollins himself has weighed in during an interview with Rich Eisen, and things aren't sounding good for the former World Heavyweight Champion.

"There was some imaging; it was a little too swollen, so we’re going to take another look, hopefully in a week or two here in LA," he shared. "Try to get some sort of firm diagnosis and we can go from there. I am not a doctor, I only know my body and what I feel. What I feel is that this is going to be me out for an extended period of time."

As noted, Rollins previously tore his MCL ahead of WrestleMania 41 and was sidelined for several months as a result. Now, he just hopes to be back in time for next year's Showcase of the Immortals.

"This isn’t the first time I’ve been injured, it won’t be the last time. I’ve always got WrestleMania in the back of my mind," the Visionary said. "Can I make it back for WrestleMania season? I feel good about that. Beyond a firm timeline, I just won’t know until we receive a clearer answer from the MRI. That’s where it’s at."

We'll see what happens, but if this is a work, it's an impressive one. Should Rollins cash in on Punk at SummerSlam, it would be one hell of a swerve, though it's not outside the realm of possibility that he targets Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena or Cody Rhodes (should he win the title) instead.

Rollins has until next June to cash in, so even if he is out of action for the rest of 2025, chances are WWE won't take the Money in the Bank briefcase from him.
