Seth Rollins has firmly established himself as one of WWE's top Superstars and that gives him the freedom to say things others might not. Take his thoughts on WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan, for example.
He's not a popular figure in the WWE locker room or among fans after a video leaked several years ago of him making a series of racist comments. During the first RAW on Netflix, Hogan came out to promote his new beer and was met by a chorus of deafening boos.
During a recent interview, Rollins discussed his history with Hogan and explained why nothing has changed when it comes to how he views the WWE Hall of Famer.
"I was a Hogan fan growing up, yes. I grew up a Hulk Hogan fan. I’ve said it a million times, the dude has been nothing but kind to me in my life and our interactions," the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion explained. "Doesn’t make him a good person. Obviously, he’s run into some issues as of late. We’ll see if he clears those up. That’s his business, though."
Asked if he was surprised by the reception Hogan received in January, Rollins replied, "No, I was not surprised. I mean, look, he hasn’t done a lot to harbor goodwill in his name over the past few years. So I just think with everything that’s going on with him, he came out, I saw it coming. I don’t know if anybody else did, but I did, yes."
Rollins now has far more important things to think about than Hogan. He currently looks set to main event another WrestleMania, likely in a Triple Threat match involving Roman Reigns and CM Punk.
When he was quizzed about a possible Shield reunion at the Show of Shows, Rollins shot down that notion - due to Jon Moxley being in AEW - but hyped up his and Reigns' long-running feud.
"Look, one of our guys is over in the other company. So he ain’t coming. And Roman Reigns and I are here for life. Look, our paths are gonna be intertwined," he explained. "We’re gonna crisscross here and there until both of us are done and retired. So you never know. You never know what WrestleMania is going to look like. You never know what next month is going to look like. Could be anytime."
Finally, he touched on his wife Becky Lynch's extended absence from WWE television (while she's expected to return in 2025, we haven't seen her on RAW or SmackDown since last May).
"She took a few months off," Rollins said. "She did some television projects, and so she’s gearing up to get ready to come back. Don’t know when that’s going to happen just yet, but I mean, she is active, yes. I will not say she is retired. She’s not mentioned anything about retirement. There are future plans for her in professional wrestling."
