The latest edition of SmackDown Live for March 13, 2018 took place at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, IN.
Here are the results of what transpired during the show:
— AJ Styles kicked off the show by talking about how he defied the odds and retained his WWE Championship at Fastlane, which means he's going to WrestleMania with the title around his waist. He's excited to give everybody the dream match of himself against Shinsuke Nakamura, which prompts Nakamura to come out. Nakamura says that everybody respects Styles, including him, and that at WrestleMania, his dream will come true with a knee to the face. Rusev Day interrupts, setting up a match.
— AJ Styles defeated Rusev by disqualification after interference from Aiden English. Nakamura helps Styles fight them off.
— Backstage, Dasha Fuentes speaks to Big E, who says that he wishes he could be telling her that The New Day won their fifth tag title and were planning on how to fill Corey Graves' car with pancake batter, but The Bludgeon Brothers took that away from them. Since Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston are out with injuries, he'll represent The New Day. Jimmy Uso comes over to them to say that since Harper and Rowan took out Jey Uso, too, they're on the same side.
— Backstage, Styles tells Nakamura he didn't need help at Fastlane and he didn't need help tonight. Nakamura assures him he'll help every time until WrestleMania, when he'll beat him with a knee to the face.
— The Bludgeon Brothers defeated Jimmy Uso and Big E by pinfall.
— Renee Young quickly interviews Sami Zayn about what happened at Fastlane. He says that he knows Kevin Owens better than anybody and he knows that when it comes to his career, he's a self-obsessed egomaniac. Part of him doesn't blame Shane McMahon for what he did, but he's upset that he was guilty by association with Owens and paid the price of Owens kicking McMahon. That's never going to happen again, for anybody.
— Charlotte Flair and Asuka hash out some of their feelings in the ring with a promo about how they're anticipating facing each other at WrestleMania. "Iron sharpens iron" was not just a phrase in it, but the overall theme. Charlotte wanted to face Asuka when she won the Royal Rumble but didn't get to make that decision. She's going to end Asuka's streak. Asuka says she chose her because she likes a challenge. No one is ready for Asuka.
— Randy Orton says that Bobby Roode proved himself at Fastlane and earned his respect, but nobody is going to take the United States Championship away from him, now that he has it. Roode comes out for his match and calls for their rematch to happen at WrestleMania, where he'll win the title back. Jinder Mahal interrupts to gloat about how he'll beat Roode tonight, just like he beat Orton before.
— Jinder Mahal defeated Bobby Roode by pinfall after some chaos from Randy Orton and Sunil Singh ringside. By the end of the segment, Orton stands tall above them all.
— Kevin Owens complains backstage to Renee Young that Sami Zayn is selfish and delusional and that he never would have gotten a chance at the championship if Shane McMahon hadn't have screwed Owens out of the pinfall.
— Carmella defeated Naomi by pinfall.
— Shane McMahon addresses what happened at Fastlane and says that he is taking a leave of absence, effective immediately after tonight's show, but before he does that, he wants to book a match between Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn at WrestleMania. Owens comes out to say he doesn't have to wait until WrestleMania to beat the hell out of Zayn, who then comes out, too. Despite their problems, they team up on Shane and beat him down, as well as the referees who try to stop them. After hitting their finishers on him and attacking him with a chair, they drag him to the back and Owens powerbombs McMahon into some equipment to end the episode as EMTs arrive to help Shane.
