WWE has confirmed that Sonya Deville has suffered a knee injury and will be sidelined indefinitely, as a result.

TMZ was the first to break the news, revealing Deville suffered a torn ACL during the July 28 episode of SmackDown. The show featured her and Chelsea Green, the current Women's Tag Team Champions, squaring off with Bianca Belair and Charlotte Flair.

It's unclear where in the match this injury occurred, though a torn ACL could keep Deville on the shelf for several months or, worst case scenario, upwards of a year. It all depends on how quickly she's able to rehab.

WWE addressed the situation during RAW and seemed to suggest plans are being put in place for the Women's Tag Team titles. This couldn't come as a worse time for either Deville or Green, particularly as they were just starting to find their feet as champions.

Needless to say, we wish Deville a very speedy recovery. As for Green, here's hoping WWE is able to make good use of her on RAW moving forward as she's definitely one of the brand's most entertaining Superstars right now.
