Despite a brief feud with Randy Orton on RAW earlier this summer, we rarely see The Big Show on WWE programming these days. Recently, he's been doing the rounds to promote Netflix's Game On: A Comedy Crossover Event, and TV Insider asked the World's Largest Athlete about whether he's thinking around retiring from in-ring competition.
Admitted that he doesn't current give that much thought, The Big Show did explain that he's spoken to WWE Chairman Vince McMahon about his future role in the company.
"Right now, it’s not on my mind, but it’s always there," he explained. "Let’s face it, I’ve been doing this for 25 years. I’m not a spring chicken anymore. I have to see where our business evolves and see where I can fit in and still be an asset. Vince [McMahon] and I have talked extensively many times together about my role and what he wants from me and what I want to give to the company."
Ultimately, it sounds like the bigger priority for The Big Show is helping younger talent. "I always want to contribute to WWE and the younger talent. I’m still excited for more shows and more opportunities and more angles. If it gets to a point where it’s time to say goodbye, then I will step back and work more behind the scenes. Hopefully, they’ll give me a job backstage doing something. I mean, I might be the person that you pass your Slammy to after you’ve won. I might be qualified to do that."
It's certainly going to be interesting seeing where things go for The Big Show from here, but there's still gas left in the tank, and he's not ready to hang his boots up quite yet.
What would you like to see from him in WWE moving forward?
