Scorpio Sky is back!

After being off of AEW Television the former TNT Champion made his return during Max Caster’s Five-Minute Challenge. He was accompanied by his former SCU buddy Christopher Daniels. He was also escorted to the ring with Top Flight.

Before his entrance, a vignette showcased Sky training with Daniels and Top Flight (Dante Martin, Darius Martin, & Leila Grey). It seemed that Sky was now in a faction with Dante and Darius, though it could just be a one week thing.

The last time Scorpio Sky wrestled before his return was on Dynamite was on July 06, 2022. He dropped the TNT Championship to Wardlow that night. Sky’s last appearance on AEW programming was September 16, 2023; Sky lost to Andrade El Idolo on Collision. There’s been some teases here and there within the past two years, but they were ultimately scrapped.

There’s no word on what the long term plans are for Sky, but all signs point to him being a prominent fixture in the six man tag team division.  It’s unknown how long his return has been planned, but Scorpio did speak out about waiting for creative to find him something back in May on his creating Character podcast.

“It’s something that has been on my mind. I don’t think about it too much, but sometimes I do wonder, ‘What is the perspective? Do people think I’m not profiled because I suck, I don’t have it anymore, I’m hurt, do they they think there is bad blood?’ The reality is I don’t know what it is. I don’t know if there is bad blood or not. I know I’m healthy and I’ve been healthy for a long time and I’ve been wanting to compete. It’s just one of those things where, what can you do? You only have so much say. You have this much [holds fingers close together] say. You do what you can.”

The 41-year-old seemed primed to become a top star for years to come, but an injury pushed back any major plans for the AEW star. Now Scorpio has been cleared to compete for the past couple of years. In fact, he’s been wrestling on the independent scene for the past couple of months. It’s good that AEW has finally given him something to do. Now, if we can finally get some clarity on what’s going on with Keith Lee.
