Former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon recently celebrated his 80th birthday. While we don't have a full guest list, several active and retired WWE Superstars were in attendance, and we now know that WWE Hall of Famer The Godfather was among them.
Reflecting on his experience at the private event on his Poddin' Ain't Easy show, the former Intercontinental Champion revealed that the billionaire was wearing a suit not dissimilar to Austin Powers villain, Dr. Evil.
"I'm like, 'Vince, thank you for inviting me.' He goes, 'Charles, I just want you to know there's nobody here that's not my true friend.' And we talked for a second, and then we walked in, but he had on, like, a Dr. Evil suit," The Godfather recalled. "I didn't want to say it to him, but, first of all, he looked better than when I've seen pictures of him lately."
"He looks a lot better than that. He's walking a lot better than that," the former professional wrestler noted. "He introduced me to his girlfriend or whatever she was, but I thought, 'Dr. Evil, you're Dr. Evil.'"
He added, "I go in, everybody, of course, is talking to Vince. He gets to me, and 'Taker [and I] are talking, and Kane, and [Vince] walks away, and 'Taker goes, 'Dude, Vince looking like Dr. Evil.' I'm like, 'Dude, that's exactly what I was thinking!'"
It's said that no phones or cameras were allowed at the event, so don't expect any sneaky shots to surface in the coming weeks. What we do know is that John Cena, JBL, Sheamus, Drew McIntyre, Miz, Maryse, Titus O'Neil, Bruce Prichard, The Undertaker, Kane, and Jerry Lawler were among the attendees.
Vince McMahon may no longer be facing criminal charges for allegedly sexually abusing and trafficking former WWE employee Janel Grant, but the civil case rolls on. As things stand, she appears to be on the cusp of having her day in court, though many believe the matter will be settled privately.
The billionaire has maintained his innocence, so if this lawsuit does reach the courtroom, he'll come under a level of scrutiny he's not used to. Still, the former WWE Chairman has never been one to back down, even after a seemingly forced retirement and his eventual departure from WWE when the company was sold to Endeavor.
With Stephanie McMahon now regularly appearing on WWE programming and Brock Lesnar making his in-ring return at SummerSlam, there are those who believe Vince could be next to show up (especially with John Cena's retirement looming).
Stay tuned for updates on that as we have them.
