TITLE CHANGE! New WWE Women's Champion Crowned At Saturday Night's Main Event 41

We have a new WWE Women's Champion as Jade Cargill defeated Tiffany Stratton to capture the title on the November 1, 2025 WWE Saturday Night's Main Event special. What's next for the title scene?

It took four months from her initial title shot, but Jade Cargill has finally won the WWE Women's Championship after defeating Tiffany Stratton at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event 41 (on November 1, 2025).

How did this go down tonight, what led to this, and what could be on the horizon? Let's break it all down!

How We Got Here:

Jade Cargill defeated Asuka at WWE Night of Champions in June to earn the right to challenge for the WWE Women's Championship at SummerSlam Saturday (August 2nd), killing some time in-between to continue her feud with Naomi and have a stop gap with Chelsea Green because why not, only for Stratton to retain. That could have been the end of it, but Cargill and Stratton started to team up, fighting Becky Lynch and Nia Jax (because Cargill and Stratton absolutely cannot get away from fighting Jax 100 times this year), eventually clashing again on the September 12th episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

That match ended in a double count-out to stall things even further. But the third time would be the charm, right?

No. Instead, WWE booked a Triple Threat match between Stratton, Cargill, and Jax, which had an awful, botched finish that ultimately ended with Stratton yet again retaining her title.

Cargill promptly disappeared for a few weeks before coming back to help Stratton fend off Giulia and Kiana James, only to then beat her up herself. Logic doesn't exist in WWE most of the time, and lo and behold, that somehow meant she earned a fourth attempt at the title.

Match Details:

Stratton went into this match not 100%, as per Cargill's attack that was the heel turn in the first place. She had been advised not to get physical on Friday Night SmackDown, and Nick Aldis even wanted her to call this match off, but she persisted anyway.

That ultimately was a mistake, as Cargill was able to overpower the champion mostly with powerbombs, before hitting Jaded for the victory.

Personal Reactions & What Happens Next?:

I would say "Good. She finally has the title and WWE can move on." However, WWE has spent the entire year having Stratton fight only Jax and Cargill, essentially, so why should I believe anything else is going to happen other than that they will continue to milk this and drag it out even longer? If Cargill defends the title at Survivor Series: WarGames, it'll be against Stratton again, mark my words, and I wouldn't put it past WWE to keep that for Royal Rumble, either.

Stratton deserved a more interesting reign, and I'm worried Cargill will suffer similar problems, on top of also not being as polished in the ring. WWE likely only looks at this and thinks the next 6 months doesn't matter, and the only thing that is important will be Cargill against Bianca Belair at WrestleMania.

Cargill has a lot of up-sides to her, but I have very little faith this is going to be a great run.
