Triple H and Stephanie McMahon took part in a panel at the TCA winter press tour earlier this week and when the company showed off a sizzle reel featuring a number of celebrities who have appeared in WWE over the years, President Donald Trump was absent despite being part of one of the biggest Wrestlemanias of all-time. As a result, journalists in attendance were quick to ask about that snub.
The Game was quick to dismiss those queries, though, noting that many celebrities weren't in the reel, including President Barack Obama and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
"To pick one is trying to get to a destination you're trying to get to," Triple H scoffed before Stephanie added: "WWE is non partisan. We are the greatest combination of every culture, gender, socio economic background. We made a strategic decision to not put forth any type of partisan politics at all." She concluded by saying it's "a decision we made in our programming, not just in our sizzle." This is still a surprise given the McMahon family's apparent association with Trump.
After all, Linda is very much involved with the administration and Vince is believed to be one of Trump's closest friends. It's possible that could have changed but the most likely answer is that WWE realises that showing any sort of support for Trump would alienate a huge part of their fanbase.
