Triple H Announces That A NEW World Heavyweight Champion Will Be Crowned At NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS

There was a lot of speculation that Triple H's big announcement would have something to do with a new WWE championship, and sure enough, The Game debuted a brand-new World Heavyweight title during tonight's episode of Raw.

Triple H pointed out that Roman Reigns' current deal means he doesn't have to defend the gold on a regular basis, and while that's great for the Tribal Chief, it's not ideal for the WWE Universe.

Trips went on to confirm that whichever show the leader of the Bloodline winds up on after the Draft, he will remain there with the titles, and the other brand will get the new champion.

Check out the new belt below.

And Roman wins it at Summerslam holding all 3 belts! Kidding aside, I wonder what that means for the title's Roman holds, will one of them be retired once he loses or will there be an above brands title that sits at the top and whomever is the next champion be forced to defend it without the other to split them up?

With the men's titles getting separate designs I hope the women's get a new one too to match.

I always figured forcing Roman to defend the titles separately would have been the correct thing to do, giving both belts to a part-timer was never a good idea. Let him keep whichever he's held the longest to keep the streak going.

@1stDalek - for long form story telling, it's been pretty good, it took him a while to get there with some false starts, but overall the bloodline and tribal chief storyline have been pretty compelling.

That said, having the main belts on a part timer isn't great, generally I would expect a majority of titles to be defended at a "premium live event", the one thing having the titles on Roman for so long has done is given the secondary titles, the intercontinental and the US, a bit more prestige, as you've had main eventers fighting for them.

I'm 100% with you though, the women's titles could do with a redesign now.

in terms of the double belts, I'm guessing they will get amalgamated at some point in the near future.
