At the start of last night's RAW, CM Punk and LA Knight exchanged words after the Second City Saint caused a disqualification during the megastar's World Heavyweight Championship match with Seth Rollins last week (saving him from taking a Curb Stomp on the concrete).
Paul Heyman, flanked by Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, soon interuppted and a tag team match was set for the show's main event.
Rollins interfered in that match, and a beatdown commenced, which saw Jey Uso try, and ultimately fail, to make the save. A furious Adam Pearce then informed the Visionary that he will have to defend his title against Punk, Knight, and Uso at the upcoming Clash in Paris PLE in a Fatal 4-Way match.
At that event, John Cena will take on Logan Paul. For those of you wondering why he isn't taking on The Beast after his return at SummerSlam (where he hit Cena with an F5), that marquee bout is being saved for a PLE scheduled for next month in Indianapolis, Indiana, on Saturday, September 20.
"The main event for this show is Brock Lesnar and John Cena," Dave Meltzer recently said of the clash that will go head-to-head with AEW's All Out PPV the same day. "So it’s, it’s a big one. Which is why Brock’s not in Paris. It is because of this. So, you know they wanted him for this show, not for the Paris show, and that’s where Logan Paul got the gig."
Cena only has a handful of appearances left, but whether Lesnar will be his final opponent remains to be seen. Much of 2025 has been wasted on a heel Cena, so the clock is now ticking on the opportunity to send him out on a high.
It's a little surprising that Roman Reigns isn't involved with this title match, but a pre-taped promo that aired during RAW from Reed seemed to suggest that he will take on the OTC in singles action.
