Kyle Fletcher isn’t leaving AEW any time soon.

According to Fightful Select, it’s been confirmed that the TNT Champion has just re-signed a new deal with AEW. Though the exact details are unknown, Sean Ross Sapp states that it’s a long term “big money” deal. The news of Fletcher re-signing with AEW is no surprise since the company has been grooming him into a singles star for the past two years.

Plus, he did just win the TNT Championship, which indicated that Tony Khan sees him as a major player going forward. The 26-year-old originally signed with AEW back in 2022 with Mark Davis as a member of Aussie Open. The duo mainly wrestled on ROH and Collision, competing for the AEW and ROH World Tag Team titles on numerous occasions. Mark and Kyle never won the tag belts before disbanding in 2023.

Since Fletcher turned on Will Ospreay, the company has been giving him the spotlight as a singles star. Fletcher has lived up to the task as he’s been delivering great performances throughout his run in the Don Callis family. At this rate, it wouldn’t be surprising if Fletcher became the AEW World Champion.

Fletcher did a recent interview with Sean Ross Sapp about choosing AEW over WWE, and he noted how stunned he was when he first got the call from the company.

“Kind of mind-blowing. Coming up and being a fan of WWE, just the fact that they were like, ‘We want to talk to you and get on a Zoom call with you,’” Fletcher said. “It was weird to let that sink in. ‘Ah, okay, I guess I’m a real wrestler now.’”

But ultimately, Fletcher chose AEW because he liked the vibe better within the promotion and cited it as a place he knew he could grow.

“It was the fact that we [Aussie Open] had come in before signing, and we kind of understood the vibe and how Tony treated us and other people,” he stated. “We trusted that it would be the best place for us to grow. The way I’m standing here today, we made the right choice.”

Fletcher is fresh off his first title defense against Tomohiro Ishii on Collision. The future seems bright for the TNT Champion. It’s not clear what his next feud is at the moment, but he’s a featured act thanks to his association with Don Callis.
