During a recent interview with TMZ, Triple H recalled the origin story of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's iconic finisher, the People's Elbow. Despite how silly the move is, it's downright iconic, and something which resulted in a huge pop every time The Great One used it.

However, it turns out that the move was created as a joke, as The Game revealed that it was used for the first time during a six man tag team match involving The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker, Mick Foley, and Kane. At that time, the Deadman never broke character, so The Rock did his upmost to make him break and crack up during their match.

"I believe the first time Rock did The People’s Elbow was in a match where we were tryna make ‘Taker crack," Triple H laughed. "It absolutely started [as a joke] and then it was getting huge reaction and everybody went with it."

While it may have started off as a rib, Triple H noted that once the move started receiving a positive response from fans, it become a permanent addition to his arsenal and the rest, as they say, is history.
