Vince McMahon won't face criminal charges for allegedly sexually abusing and trafficking former WWE employee Janel Grant. However, the civil case rolls on, though it's been a while since we've had any definitive updates about what's happening.
The billionaire appears unwilling to settle and maintains his innocence, so if this lawsuit does reach the courtroom, McMahon will face a level of scrutiny he's typically avoided. Still, the former WWE Chairman has never been one to back down, even after a seemingly forced retirement and his eventual departure from WWE when the company was sold to Endeavor.
In the meantime, McMahon has been dealing with another legal issue. Earlier this year, he was involved in a three-car accident in Westport, Connecticut. While no injuries were sustained, McMahon's 2024 Bentley was allegedly travelling northbound when it hit the rear of a 2023 BMW and collided with a median guardrail. A third vehicle, a Ford Fusion, which was travelling southbound, then hit debris caused by the initial impact.
Airbags were deployed in both the Bentley and the BMW, and all three vehicles had to be towed from the scene. The median guardrail sustained approximately 30 feet of damage, and police were called.
McMahon appeared in court in Stamford, Connecticut, yesterday, and a judge decided that the charges—a misdemeanour summons for reckless driving and following too closely—will be dropped if he completes an accelerated pretrial rehabilitation program.
He must also keep his record clean for the next year, donate $1000 to charity, and adhere to all driving laws. Next October, the charges will be expunged from McMahon's record without a conviction.
Sharing a statement with TMZ Sports, McMahon's attorney, Mark Sherman, said, "It was good news. Not every car accident is a crime and the judge agreed he deserved this dismissal, and we’re grateful for that."
