VIDEO: Paul Heyman Is Full Of Praise For Brock Lesnar's SURVIVOR SERIES Opponent, AJ Styles
RAW Universal Champion Brock Lesnar may have pulled out a victory over SmackDown LIVE's WWE Champ AJ Styles at Survivor Series last night, but that doesn't mean the Phenomenal One didn't make an impression...
Well, AJ Styles certainly left an impression on Paul Heyman after taking his client to the limit last night at Survivor Series.
As most if us expected he would, The Phenomenal One came up short during the champion VS. champion match against Brock Lesnar, but they pair still delivered (arguably) the match of the night.
Afterwards, Lesnar's advocate was asked for his reponse, and he was full of praise for styles, even comparing his to greats such as Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart.
"I'm shocked. I've been an AJ Styles fan since before I was supposed to be an AJ Styles fan. I watched AJ Styles before anybody here was supposed to watch AJ Styles. He is more phenomenal than he gives himself credit for. If you're not an AJ Styles fan you shouldn't even be watching WWE. He's everything Shawn Michaels, and Bret Hart, and Ric Flair were to their generation and he's updated it; he's evolved their styles to truly be the single most phenomenal in-ring performer I have ever had the honor and the pleasure of watching up close.
I've been doing this my entire life. No one in the ring has ever compared to what I witnessed tonight when I had the best seat in the house and got to see AJ Styles up close. To you, sir, I have nothing but respect and admiration. Which is why, when they put this match together, when AJ Styles defeated Jinder Mahal to become the WWE champion, I dropped to my knees and I thanked god that Brock Lesnar gets to step into the ring with AJ Styles. Because it's one thing to eat through an entire division, it's another thing to step into the ring with AJ Styles and show the world that you can conquer those hopes, those dreams, that intensity, that underdog.
Yes, Rocky lost at the end of the movie but he won the respect of the woman he loved. AJ Styles continues to earn your respect every single night that he performs. Tonight, he didn't just perform he fought. He took the fight to the Beast like very few ever have, which is why I stand before you tonight your humble advocate because I am truly with the champion of champions, the ultimate title holder, the reigning, defending, undisputed number one champion, then, now, and forever, Brock Lesnar."
Fans - and Mr. Heyman, no doubt - are hoping to see these two square off again down the line, but considering they're both the top guys on their respective shows, we'll probably be waiting quite a while.
