Because Brock Lesnar is usually portrayed as the heel these days, nobody expected Samoa Joe to win the fatal five-way match at Extreme Rules to determine the new #1 contender for The Beast's Universal Championship. However, Joe coming out on top seemed to confirm that WWE planned on making Lesnar the face for this particular feud, and that was most definitely confirmed by The Destroyer's actions on Raw last night.

Paul Heyman came out to the ring to address Joe's chances against his client in much the same manner as he confronted Finn Balor a couple of weeks ago - but this did not end with just a handshake.

This was a terrific segment, as it really solidified Joe as an intimidating, merciless force to be reckoned with. Some see it as a mistake to portray the much larger, more physically imposing Lesnar as the face here, but if handled properly it could work out well.

Of course, The Samoan Suplex Machine's chances of beating The Beast for the title remain slim - but then again, we all thought the same about an Extreme Rules victory, so who knows?
