The WWE Hall of Fame is less than two weeks away.
Thus far, Triple H, Michelle McCool, Lex Luger, and The Natural Disasters (Typhoon & Earthquake) are confirmed as 2025 inductees. WWE even pulled a UFC by inducting their first match into the Hall of Fame: Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin from WrestleMania 13.
However, the announcement for new inductees isn’t done. The promotion has confirmed that Dory Funk Sr, Kamala, and Ivan Koloff will be put into the WWE Hall of Fame 2025 as legacy inductees.
Kamala was a notable name in WWE during the early 90’s. Though his professional wrestling career started in 1978, with Kamala having two previous stints in WWE and WCW, his battles against The Undertaker, Bret Hart, and The Ultimate Warrior really pushed him into the upper mid card scene. Kamala never won the world title; in fact, Kamala never won any titles in WWE. However, he made a memorable impression during his time in every promotion her was in. Sadly, Kamala passed away in 2020 due to COVID.
Ivan Koloff was the man that ended Bruno Sammartino’s legendary reign. However, he only kept it for 21 days. But that’s not the reason he’s entering the Hall of Fame. Koloff played the foreign heel to perfection during his time in wrestling. He was an excellent heel who knew how to generate heat and his time Mid-Atlantic Wrestling, NWA, and WWE highlighted just how dynamic of a performer he was despite being saddled with a one-dimensional gimmick. Koloff officially retired in 2013 and unfortunately, he passed away four years later.
Last, but not least, is Dory Funk Sr, who didn’t have any time in WWE. However, the World War II veteran made a splash with his Western States Sport organization in Amarillo, Texas and helped shape some of the most notable names in professional wrestling such as Bruiser Brody, Harley Race and Funk’s equally legendary sons, Dory Jr. and Terry.
The 2025 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony will take place at the BleauLive Theater at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas on Friday, April 18, 2025 at 10 PM Pacific Time.
