WWE Hall Of Famer Edge Finally Responds To Reports That He's Making His In-Ring Return

It's been nearly nine years since we saw Edge in action in the ring and rumours continue to swirl that he'll be back in time for the Royal Rumble PPV. Now, the WWE Hall of Famer has responded to that...

Edge was forced to retire from WWE due to a neck injury which meant that one wrong bump could have left him paralysed. However, we've been hearing for a while that his condition has improved and that the plan is for him to now work a part-time schedule similar to Brock Lesnar shortly after he signed a new contract.

Well, during a recent interview, Edge debunked those reports and claimed that it won't happen. "It's kind of funny to be honest. All of these rumors that I've been to Pittsburgh and I've been cleared to wrestle and I've signed a new contract. I have no idea where any of it came from. The last time I was in Pittsburgh I had my wrist fused in 2013. I don't know."

Pittsburgh is, of course, where WWE's Medical Director Dr. Joseph Maroon is based and there's been speculation that Edge has visited the city to be cleared in time for Sunday's Royal Rumble PPV.

"I would go to Pittsburgh to see Pearl Jam for sure but I haven't been there and I haven't signed a contract. I think I would know," said Edge. "I'll get this tsunami of comments saying, 'You're coming back! You signed a contract.' I really haven't."

That's his official statement then but we'll see whether it's true this weekend...
