After mountains of rumors regarding Vince McMahon looking to revive the failed XFL, WWE has issued an statement, but one that will fuel the gossip even more.

WWE states, “Vince McMahon has established and is personally funding a separate entity from WWE, Alpha Entertainment, to explore investment opportunities across the sports and entertainment landscapes, including professional football. Mr. McMahon has nothing further to announce at this time.”

The XFL was founded by Vince McMahon back in February 2000, but its only season lasted during the winter and spring of 2001 due to poor ratings in the end. The league featured eight teams that played 10 games each. It’s being said that McMahon will make the announcement on January 25th.
