Stephanie McMahon is frequently criticised for the fact her on-screen character constantly belittles the wrestlers she crosses paths with but something that leaves many fans perplexed is the fact she's a heel on television but a babyface on social media (for the most part, WWE Superstars and personalities stick to whatever they are on RAW or SmackDown Live while they're online).
Explaining that it's not easy trying to mix her villainous actions on TV with her philanthropic and business activities away from the squared circle, Stephanie says she's found a groove that works.
"It’s called acting. I would like to think that’s not who I am in person, but I wear a bunch of hats. I have my performer hat where I am evil and then I have my business hat and I have my mom hat and that’s just who I am. Actually on social media, I tried to be both at the same time when I launched my channels. It didn’t work at all and it was very confusing to everybody and so I am just myself on social media and I am my character when I am on the show."
That explanation makes sense and with rumours pointing to Stephanie returning to WWE programming in the very near future, it will be interesting to see what hat she wears next. While fans love to boo her, the door definitely appears to be open to her heading down the babyface route seeing as she'll be working with Kurt Angle on RAW. For now, we're just going to have to wait and see!
