A little bit before WrestleMania 36, Cedric Alexander and Ricochet have been competing as the newest tag team on the flagship brand; however, the duo didn’t officially have a tag team name. Well, until now.
For the past week, the former Cruiserweight and United States Champions have been tagging the name #2FlyCrew. During a recent interview following their tag team match on RAW against Shane Thorne & Brendan Vink, the duo once again mentions the name after they accept MVP’s challenge to fight Ever Rise again on RAW. It appears for the the time being, Alexander and Ricochet will remain in the tag team division.
When Paul Heyman came on board last year, it was reported that the 54-year-old was keen on pushing both Alexander and Ricochet as singles stars, and for a couple of months, both men were a key component of RAW.
However, following Alexander's failure to capture the United States Championship and Ricochet being squashed by Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship at WWE Super Showdown, it was reported that Vince McMahon had soured on both talents. Alexander and Ricochet started losing their respective matches, essentially becoming jobber to the stars.
There’s no word on whether Alexander and Ricochet being put together as a tag team was Heyman’s idea; however, it is nice to see the two athletes being given a chance to spotlight their talents again.
