Saturday Night's Main Event and Evolution 2 have been and gone, and all eyes now turn to next month's SummerSlam. It will be the first time the show takes place over two nights, making it a WrestleMania-level PLE.
Rumours are swirling about what's on the way, ranging from 2K Games' WWE 2K25 plans, the company's planned theme park presence, the response to Evolution 2, and updates on Seth Rollins, AJ Lee, and WWE's war with AEW.
We even have news on John Cena's possible final opponent, and it sounds like he'll be putting over one of WWE's biggest rising stars on the way out.
You can read through these latest WWE rumours below:
- Fightful Select reports that a Wyatt Family DLC is coming to WWE 2K25, with "a lot of unused Bray Wyatt content" and full videos of Wyatt and Bo Dallas/Uncle Howdy that we didn't get to see on television.
- The site describes it as "a very deep story" that "will get people emotional."
- It's also said that WWE has plans for a full integration into Universal Studios Orlando's "Halloween Horror Nights" event later this year. Perhaps a permanent theme park attraction will be next?
- PW Insider has learned that the reaction to Evolution 2 in WWE has been so good that there's likely to be an Evolution 3. There's no set timetable for when it will take place, but WWE has taken note of how positively fans responded to the show.
- Despite those recent YouTube uploads, AJ Lee was never expected to return at Evolution 2, and they were purely coincidental.
- As expected, WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus is set to wrestle again in 2025.
- Despite speculation that Seth Rollins' injury is a work meant to set the stage for a cash in at SummerSlam, Fightful has revealed that he was seen backstage at Evolution 2 wearing a knee brace and using crutches.
- Multiple outlets are also disputing Dave Meltzer's claim that Rollins isn't legitimately injured, and we're hearing the former World Heavyweight Champion could be on the shelf for upwards of 5 months.
- @WrestleVotes has heard that WWE intends to run NXT Heatwave on Sunday, August 24, in South Carolina. That's the same day as AEW Forbidden Door takes place in London.
- Unsurprisingly, it's said that WWE is intentionally scheduling its shows on the same days as AEW events to control online chatter/buzz and overshadow the company. It's a move fully supported by TKO and is likely to continue moving forward.
- If you need any further proof that WWE is going all in on World Heavyweight Champion Gunther, then look no further than a report from WRKD Wrestling. That claims he's been pencilled in as John Cena's final opponent.
