This past weekend's Saturday Night's Main Event saw two new champions crowned, with CM Punk now the World Heavyweight Champion and Jade Cargill the new WWE Women's Champion.
That nicely sets the stage for Survivor Series: WarGames next month, and what will likely be one of the most intriguing Roads to WrestleMania in quite some time.
While we wait to see how all that shapes up, we have plenty of big rumors to share with you today. Those range from updates on Saturday Night's Main Event to a name change for Zelina Vega and the possible WWE returns of wrestlers like Chris Jericho and Andrade.
Check out these latest WWE rumors below, and stay tuned for more as we have it.
- According to Fightful Select, WWE was frustrated with low ticket sales for Saturday Night's Main Event in Salt Lake City this past Saturday. Ticket prices remain incredibly high, so it's hard to believe the company was that surprised when this was a four-match card with Jey Uso in the main event. Interestingly, neither Triple H nor Bruce Prichard were backstage for the show.
- Based on an update to her page on WWE.com, Zelina Vega's name now appears to be simply "Zelina."
- Before being paired with real-life husband Aleister Black, Zelina worked with Andrade in NXT. Much has been said about him possibly returning to WWE after being fired by the company. According to Dave Meltzer, while there are "lots of secrets" in WWE, an inside source says they've "never heard the name discussed."
- Meltzer also claims that "a lot of political stuff [is] going on there right now" when it comes to WWE Superstar Shinsuke Nakamura potentially being Hiroshi Tanahashi's final opponent at the Tokyo Dome for NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 20 in January.
- Bryan Alvarez has learned that there are tentative plans for NXT's women to do a Japan tour in 2026. As of now, it's unclear whether that includes Marigold, NOAH, or both.
- PWInsider.com's Mike Johnson has said he'd "be shocked" if WWE "didn’t have the right to purchase [TNA] outright if someone else made an offer."
- Melzer, meanwhile, has heard that AEW President Tony Khan won't use wrestlers who are likely WWE-bound. That could be why David Finlay has vanished from AEW. In the case of Chris Jericho, his trademark for "The Jericho Vortex" is now listed as "dead and abandoned," once again suggesting he's done with AEW and is indeed WWE-bound.
- There's long been speculation that Vince McMahon fired Brad Maddox in 2015 for saying "pricks" during a dark match. Now, WWE Hall of Famer John Layfield has confirmed that, explaining that the then-WWE Chairman viewed it as a "classless word."
