Crown Jewel takes place in Perth, Australia, this weekend, with Survivor Series: WarGames up next for WWE before the company heads to Saudi Arabia for the Royal Rumble. With that, we'll be back on the Road to WrestleMania.
There's plenty to look forward to in the meantime, and in our latest WWE rumor roundup, we have updates on John Cena, Roman Reigns, the contracts of various WWE Superstars, and much more (including the latest on Dark Side of the Ring).
You can learn more about what's to come below, but be warned that possible spoilers follow.
- On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, it was said that Roman Reigns is going to be part of the men's WarGames match at Survivor Series and will also be part of the 30-man Royal Rumble match. As a result, he's unlikely to face Seth Rollins until next year's WrestleMania.
- CM Punk, LA Knight, and Jey Uso are expected to be among those competing in a multi-man match to decide Seth Rollins' next challenger for the World Heavyweight Championship.
- Following comments from The New Day's Xavier Woods that he's signed a new contract with the company, Fightful Select has revealed that former WWE Champion Kofi Kingston has inked a deal that will keep him in the company until 2030.
- Interestingly, the site has also learned that Woods' negotiations "came down to the wire."
- As for Santos Escobar's renewal, Bryan Alvarez explains that he got "a lot of money" and "a lot of different," suggesting we're "going to see a lot more of Santos Escobar." However, at least part of the reason for this deal is that WWE "didn't want the perception of another [talent] leaving."
- PW Insider reports that WWE is considering bringing former Cruiserweight Champion TJ Perkins/TJP on board as a guest coach at the Performance Center to help shape the NXT roster.
- It's being widely reported that Vice has renewed Dark Side of the Ring for a seventh season, and that production has already started on new episodes.
- According to Dave Meltzer, "[John Cena's] other match, I knew he had another match coming up that hadn’t been announced, but it’s actually for the Petco Park show in San Diego. So he’s on Survivor Series on that show." The 17-time WWE Champion will retire at Saturday Night's Main Event on December 13, but has Crown Jewel and a couple of episodes of RAW left. Adds Meltzer, "I believe that's all his appearances left, unless he makes a new deal."
