Saturday Night's Main Event takes place next weekend, and with Survivor Series: WarGames and John Cena's retirement looming, it's shaping up to be an exciting couple of months for WWE fans.

In our latest rumour roundup, we share new intel on those upcoming PLEs, including current plans for the men's WarGames match. There's also news on creative plans for Bron Breakker, and significant updates on Andrade and Chris Jericho's respective in-ring futures.

We kick off this latest roundup with a full breakdown of updates from this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter...

  • Cody Rhodes will defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre at Saturday Night's Main Event next month. The match had been planned for Survivor Series: WarGames, but was moved forward due to Jacob Fatu's injury.
  • Fatu was supposed to face McIntyre at the show on November 1, but currently remains "out of action."
  • Sharing his take on the decision, Meltzer said, "That also speaks of the depth issue, as when Fatu went down, instead of plugging another babyface in a feud with McIntyre to set up Survivor Series, they went right to Rhodes vs. McIntyre."

  • The main event for Survivor Series: WarGames will still be "Punk & Reigns team against The Vision-led team." According to Meltzer, "Some thought that with all the injuries that it would be changed to the Wyatts vs. MFTs since they are clearly doing a multi-person program there as well."

  • Seth Rollins was forced to vacate the World Heavyweight Championship due to a shoulder injury, and at Saturday Night's Main Event, CM Punk and Jey Uso will square off for the title. Bron Breakker not being included in creative plans has surprised many fans, but it was a deliberate decision on WWE's part.
  • It's said that the decision was made "not to have Adam Pearce not allow Breakker or Bronson Reed in the Battle Royal," with no storyline explanation provided. Still, "Breakker is expected to end up as champion, but they have a plan of how and when to execute it."
  • Ultimately, the decision was made that Saturday Night's Main Event wasn't the right place for Breakker's big moment.

  • After parting ways with WWE, Andrade made a surprise appearance on the October 1 episode of AEW Dynamite, where he allied with the Don Callis Family. Despite being fired by WWE, he remains under a non-compete that, according to various reports, could last for a year (whether that would hold up in court is another matter).
  • PWInside's sources have revealed that, "There is a belief in some lucha circles that WWE is trying to use the leverage of the potential one-year no compete as a way to bring Andrade back into the fold."
  • No one in WWE would confirm that, but "that is the story making the rounds in Mexico."

  • Chris Jericho is still absent from AEW, marking his longest absence from the company since signing with them. Fightful Select has revealed that his current contract is still set to end at the end of 2025, and that he hasn't been brought up in creative plans.
  • The relationship between both sides is "still strong," but Jericho has been "brought up among higher-ups in WWE." If he does go back, then he will "almost certainly get offered 'several million dollars' annually." AEW would likely match the offer.
