During Saturday night's Elimination Chamber PLE, John Cena shocked the world when he turned heel and joined forces with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
Rapper Travis Scott was also involved with the segment and a clip of him slapping the downed Cody Rhodes quickly went viral. Talking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that the American Nightmare suffered a busted eardrum from the blow.
Needless to say, we'd imagine Scott now has a receipt heading his way from Rhodes.
Fightful Select has also shared some post-Elimination Chamber chatter, including the fact that social media rumblings about The Rock and Rhodes' segment airing early in the night were a result of deliberate leaks to keep Cena's heel turn a secret. It was always going to be the main event segment.
The Final Boss' WrestleMania 41 involvement isn't set in stone but PW Insider has heard that he will be aligned with the Leader of the Cenation at the Show of Shows. The Rock only makes sporadic television appearances but is expected to join Cena on RAW at one of the upcoming shows on WWE's upcoming European tour according to @WrestleVotes (London seems most likely).
Scott, meanwhile, has been training at an unnamed WWE Legends' school and is expected to step into the ring somewhere down the line.
PW Insider also reveals that the next WWE Draft is set for after WrestleMania.
Fightful brings word that there's currently no indication that WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus plans to stick around after Elimination Chamber, while Noami's absence from the Queen of the Ring junket is down to her selling the Jade Cargill beatdown from Saturday if PW Insider is to be believed.
Finally, @WrestleVotes says the expectation is that Rey Fenix will be joining WWE "sooner rather than later." If so, he's likely to have a match on the WrestleMania 41 card, presumably alongside his brother Penta.
Talking at Elimination Chamber's post-show press conference, the Brahma Bull - talking out of character - addressed Cena's heel turn and what it means for the business.
"It was an amazing moment. We as entertainers, whether in pro wrestling or film or television, you really live for moments like that where you can hopefully create something that can be very compelling and moving for the audience and take 38,000 strong in Toronto and what we have collectively thought about and talked about in the back, before and certainly after this moment, no one knew really what was going to happen."
"Maybe if you called it, but for the most part, I thought the moment was incredible, and I personally love that. I’ve been around the block in terms of being a pro wrestler. I love this business. What I felt tonight, and I’ve been a part of some really phenomenal professional wrestling angles, and as a kid growing up, I’ve seen some amazing pro wrestling angles. I felt like tonight stood beside all of those that were iconic angles."
Stay tuned for updates as we have them.
