When Tough Enough was relaunched in 2015, a winner was found in the form of Josh Bredl. He was given the name Bronson Matthews and became a fixture of WWE's Breaking Ground but has only made sporadic appearances on NXT and has never seemingly been taken seriously by the company (mainly because he wasn't particularly good or well-liked from the start).
Well, in news which probably won't surprise anyone, it's been revealed that Matthews has been released by WWE. As of right now, though, they've not even wished him well with his future endeavours!
He hasn't actually worked any NXT Live events since the summer of 2016 and hasn't been at the WWE Performance Center either due to concussion-related issues. Had those not been a factor, it's possible he could have risen up the ranks of WWE but Breaking Ground made it clear he was lacking in charisma and in-ring skill, so WWE waiting until his contract expired makes sense.
Sawyer Fulton and Chinese recruit Leo Gao were also released from NXT last week.
