It took a while for them to find their feet, but The Judgement Day has recently become every bit as important to RAW as The Bloodline is to SmackDown.
The group was originally led by WWE Hall of Famer Edge, but when Vince McMahon decided to take them down a supernatural route, he asked to leave. Finn Balor took his place, with Dominik Mysterio later joining him, Damian Priest, and Rhea Ripley.
With Triple H in charge of creative, The Judgement Day thankfully avoided heading down that route and they've since flourished.
There's been a great deal of tension within the faction as of late, with Balor and Priest often butting heads after the latter won the Money in the Bank briefcase. JD McDonagh has recently inserted himself into this clash, of course, leaving fans to wonder where all this might be heading.
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer shares an update about what's likely next for this compelling storyline.
"While this could easily change, the long-term plan is Priest out of Judgment Day," he says. "Whether that means McDonagh is in, that's a probable but not 100 percent."
It seems like a logical next step for Priest to leave The Judgement Day, particularly as he's on the cusp of a huge babyface run. This group has proved to be a great way to get younger Superstars over, with him, Ripley, and Mysterio all benefiting massively since joining.
McDonagh could also be put on the map if he joins Balor's group, though there are many fans who are still disappointed that The Judgement Day's leader didn't end up defeating Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam. That still feels like a major miscalculation on WWE's part.
Stay tuned for updates as we have them.
