Xavier Woods' Recent Injury Might Be Quite A Bit Worse Than Originally Reported

We have some bad news for fans of The New Day today as it's now being reported that Xavier Woods' injury could be a lot worse that initially reported. Find out more about what's happening after the jump...

Earlier this week, we told you that Xavier Woods suffered an injury of some sort at a recent WWE Live event in Australia. It happened during a tag team match pitting The New Day against The Revival and while WWE initially reported that he'd injured his Achilles tendon, nothing more than that has been officially revealed.

Well, the Wrestling Observer has now weighed in and it sounds like things are worse than we initially feared. Apparently, "the word going around it is that it is a tear, which is an injury that usually has a very long recuperation period after surgery." This could take as long as nine months to heal which leaves The New Day down a member at a bad time.

They were high on the list when the trio was drafted to SmackDown but will WWE continue pushing them with just Kofi Kingston and Big E? In the past, once one of them was injured, they were taken off television and it honestly feels like now could be a good time to have them go their separate ways...for a while at least.

Either way, we wish Woods a speedy recovery and will keep you updated!
