Winter has cometh!

Tonight’s Winter is Coming special features a potential match of the year candidate and a highly-anticipated title match.

In the Continental Classic, Claudio Castagnoli is the leader of the Gold League as the AEW Trios Champion has soundly beaten Ricochet and Brody King. There were some cracks in Claudio’s armor last week as King came seconds away from beating the AEW star before he cheated to grab the win.

However, Claudio has a bigger issue to deal with tonight: Will Ospreay. The former AEW International Champion remains undefeated in the tournament thus far. Ospreay has had a hot 2024, with Kyle Fletcher and Swerve Strickland being his rare setbacks. Will the Aerial Assassin continue his momentum by getting one over the Death Rider member?

For the AEW Women’s World Championship, Mina Shirakawa will finally face her former friend, Mariah May. The latter tried to ambush Mina the same way she did Toni Storm, but the new AEW acquisition was familiar with Mariah May's dirty tricks and managed to outsmart the AEW Women’s World Champion.

Despite her blunder with Anna Jay, May has been a dominant champion since she beat Toni Storm at All In. But Mina will not be an easy challenger. In fact, since these two know each other so well, the AEW star is the biggest threat to May’s title reign yet. Will Mina Shirakawa finally put Mariah May in her place and secure the AEW Women’s World title?

Also, the AEW World Champion will be in action for the first time since Full Gear. Jon Moxley is scheduled to team with Pac to take on Jay White and Orange Cassidy. The former IWGP Heavyweight Champion has had a nice streak since returning at WrestleDream and he’s made his intentions about coming for the world title clear.

Can Jay White get one over the AEW World Champion? Or will the Death Riders add another name onto their growing list?

Expect to see Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, Ricochet, Adam “Hangman” Page, and Brody King on tonight’s Winter is Coming special. Check out the confirmed matches below:

  • Will Ospreay vs. Claudio Castagnoli in a Continental Classic gold league match
  • Brody King vs. Ricochet in a Continental Classic gold league match
  • Mariah May vs. Mina Shirakawa for the AEW Women’s World Championship
  • Jon Moxley and Pac vs. Jay White and Orange Cassidy
  • Adam Cole vs. Kyle O’Reilly for a spot in the Dynamite Diamond Ring match with MJF at AEW Worlds End
