A TBS Championship Match Headlines Tonight's AEW DYNAMITE HOLIDAY BASH Special

The special holiday episode features a TBS Championship match.

For the first time in months, Mercedes Mone will go solo as the TBS Champion is scheduled to take on Anna Jay for the prestigious belt. For 206 days, Mercedes Mone has successfully defended her belt against Nyla Rose, Britt Baker, Hikaru Shida, Emi Sakura, Queen Aminata, and most recently, Kris Statlander. 

Mone has experience on her side coming into the title match, but that doesn’t mean she should count out Anna Jay. Though the young AEW wrestler has yet to win a title within the company, she has considerably grown as a performer throughout the years.

Anna Jay was able to beat Mariah May in a non-title match, and though she couldn’t repeat that success in a championship match, it shows that the AEW star has the ability to get the job done against top tier talent. Who will walk out as the TBS Champion tonight?

The Continental Classic continues as Will Ospreay takes on Darby Allin in a highly anticipated match-up. Both men have similar daredevil styles, and are the two most popular names on the AEW roster. Ospreay has been on a hot streak since coming into AEW full time.

The 31-year-old is a former two-time International Champion and has had banger after banger throughout 2024. Darby Allin hit a crossroad when he lost his AEW World title shot to Jon Moxley at Grand Slam, but the former TNT Champion has been slowly re-building up his momentum and looks to get the biggest win he’s had in months. 

Also, MJF is expected to appear on tonight’s show. With a mic in his hand, the former AEW World Champion always has something newsworthy to say and it should be no different here. MJF is in a heated feud with Adam Cole, and it should be interesting to see how he reacts to facing Cole At World’s End on December 28th.
