Tonight's episode of AEW Dynamite (April 9, 2025) takes place at the Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena in Baltimore, Maryland and will air starting at 8 p.m. on TBS.

This post will be updated throughout the evening to reflect live coverage of all the important information, noteworthy things that transpire, winners for all the match results, recaps of promo/talking segments and more. Keep refreshing for the most up-to-date results!

Preview & Predictions for AEW Dynamite:

On tap for tonight's episode, it's the fallout of AEW Dynasty from this past weekend, as well as the continuation of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament and more.

As part of that, Swerve Strickland will be looking to get a measure of revenge against The Death Riders following the events that transpired in the main event for the AEW World Championship. He'll be in action against one-third of the world trios champions, PAC, and will likely win that match.

That is in part because The Opps are now in a feud with The Death Riders over those trios titles, so expect them to get involved, in particular because two of those (HOOK and Samoa Joe) will be in action against the other two trios champions, Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta. It'd go a long way to put them in No. 1 contenders' territory if they were to win that tag team bout.

"Timeless" Toni Storm will be on commentary for a Women's Owen Hart Cup match as Kris Statlander faces Thunder Rosa in a quarterfinals bout. The winner of that match will face the winner of Billie Starkz vs. Jamie Hayter, which has yet to happen.

Nothing else has currently been announced, but we can expect some other repercussions from Dynasty, such as MJF trying to prove himself to The Hurt Syndicate, "Hangman" Adam Page's odd involvement in the main event on Sunday night, the breakup of Rated FTR, the continued collapse of The Learning Tree and more.

All that and more will go down, so be sure to keep refreshing for updates throughout the show!

Here are your results for AEW Dynamite April 9, 2025:

  • Jon Moxley defeated Katsuyori Shibata by submission. The Young Bucks came out after the match, and Moxley and Marina Shafir left. Matt and Nick Jackson cut a promo about how they cost Swerve Strickland the title for "Hangman" Adam Page, and helping Moxley out was a peace offering as they endorse what he's doing. Kenny Omega interrupts, tells a story about his school friend who had two dogs that used to poop on the floor, and equates The Young Bucks to that story. Omega goes into the ring, ready for a fight, and Kazuchika Okada comes out to back up The Young Bucks, but Swerve Strickland then came out to align himself with Omega. The Elite runs off. Strickland gets a microphone and says he's declaring it buck hunting season.
  • Swerve Strickland defeated PAC by pinfall.
  • "Hangman" Adam Page doesn't know anything about the wild card in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament and goes to find Prince Nana backstage, where he specifies that he wasn't helping out Strickland at Dynasty and he wants them to stay out of his way or he'll go back to attacking them. Nana tries to say something of an apology, but Hangman stops him and says "You don't get that."
  • $400,000 Explosive 8-Man Tag Team Match: Will Ospreay, Kevin Knight, Mark Briscoe and "Speedball" Mike Bailey defeate Ricochet, The Beast Mortos, and CRU (Action Andretti & Lio Rush) by pinfall.
  • Promo: The Hurt Syndicate rejects adding MJF to the mix with a 2-1 vote, as MVP voted yes, but Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin said no.
  • Women's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Quarterfinal Match: Kris Statlander defeated Thunder Rosa by pinfall.
  • Don Callis talks about how Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita are going to make it to the finals of the Owen Hart Cup and his faction is now accepting applicants to join.
  • Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Strong praised Adam Cole for his TNT Championship win. Cole talks about how excellence is defined by how he handles his failures, and after all his setbacks, he's now the face of TNT and it's a new era. They are The Paragon, and that is undisputed.
  • TV Time with Chris Jericho: Jericho congratulates Bandido in beating him for the ROH World Championship at Dynasty and invites Big Bill and Bryan Keith to come out. Big Bill points out that he joined up with Jericho to learn from him, but not to be his punching bag whenever things go sour. Jericho says that he believes in them, and many people would say that they're the reason he lost the ROH title. But he's not angry, he's just disappointed. Jericho then snaps and uses Floyd (his baseball bat) to smash some of his set. Until Bill and Keith change that, it's best for him to leave.
  • Alicia Atout interviews The Hurt Syndicate backstage. Bobby Lashley reiterates that they don't need him. Shelton Benjamin says that "little George Costanza" is funny, though. Lashley and Benjamin walk off and MJF enters the room, tells Atout to beat it, and asks MVP why he keeps getting treated like a punk bitch. MVP says in business, you find out what your consumer wants and you give it to them.
  • The Opps (Hook and Samoa Joe) defeated The Death Riders (Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta) by submission. Moxley and Shibata interfered for distractions during the match. After the match, Marina Shafir hit Samoa Joe's leg from behind with a steel chair. The Death Riders beat down on The Opps, with Castagnoli also taking out HOOK with a chair. Joe ran them off when he got ahold of a chair. Joe then grabbed a microphone and challenged them for the trios titles to end the show.
