Preview & Predictions for AEW Dynamite:
On tap for tonight's episode, "8 Belts" Mercedes Mone is going to appear. AKA, she's going to be cutting a promo and/or interacting with the winner of a four-way qualifier match which will determine the AEW representative for a different four-way match, set to go down at Forbidden Door, wherein Mone will face whoever wins this as well as someone from CMLL and someone from Stardom. The four potential candidates here are Alex Windsor, Skye Blue, Queen Aminata, and Billie Starkz. My prediction is Windsor, but I'll admit that I'm not super confident in that.
The remaining semifinals match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship Eliminator Tournament will also take place with The Young Bucks against Brodido. The winners of that match will go on to face FTR in the finals to determine who gets the Forbidden Door title opportunity against The Hurt Syndicate. I suspect Brodido wins this so that FTR has a babyface team to go up against in the finals, but it's entirely possible they just want to have another FTR vs The Young Bucks match again, too, as it doesn't always have to be as cut and dry as heel versus babyface all the time.
MJF and Mark Briscoe will have their grudge match that has been building to a boiling point for weeks. This will be the main event of the show, but there will obviously be other things along the way as well that haven't been announced yet with "Hangman" Adam Page, Swerve Strickland's feud with Kazuchika Okada, Toni Storm's feud with Athena and more.
Here are your results for AEW Dynamite - August 6, 2025:
- Jon Moxley defeated "Speedball" Mike Bailey by pinfall.
- Darby Allin apparently abducted Wheeler Yuta and tossed him to the side with a note/challenge for Jon Moxley for Forbidden Door.
- AEW TBS Championship Forbidden Door 4-Way Qualifier Match: Alex Windsor defeated Billie Starkz, Queen Aminata and Skye Blue by pinfall. Mercedes Mone came out and taunted Windsor as Athena and Starkz took out Toni Storm and Windsor.
- The Young Bucks complained to Renee Paquette about their treatment as of late.
- Promo: Don Callis Family was out for a promo to hype up Kyle Fletcher's TNT title win. Callis presented him with an oil painting of the two of them muscular and predominantly naked. Fletcher talked about how he's going to be champion for a very long time and that this is just the start of his legacy.
- AEW World Tag Team Championship Eliminator Tournament Semifinals Match: Brodido (Bandido & Brody King) defeated The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) by pinfall.
- The Hurt Syndicate were interviewed about Brodido's win. It doesn't matter who they fight, as they will be "all too happy" to hurt them. MJF rolled up to talk to MVP. Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin left. MJF told MVP that they don't need those other two and that together, they'll win the world title. MVP says MJF's ego is more than anyone can stand, and gives him the third thumbs down. But as a last act of kindness, they'll leave him in one piece. He hopes that MJF fails to win the title, because he loves him like a little brother, and if MJF wins the belt, Bobby Lashley will be coming for him, and it will be personal, not business.
- Alicia Atout interviewed FTR about Stokely's match for next week against Cope. Stoke said he's been fighting his entire life, took a shot at Beth Phoenix's head shape and Copeland's kids, and said he'll beat The Rated-R Superstar.
- Swerve Strickland was interviewed about his Forbidden Door match against Kazuchika Okada. Essentially the "you're great, but I'm going to win" type of promo.
- Kris Statlander, Willow Nightingale, and Queen Aminata were in an interview segment. Statlander doesn't seem willing to put her issues with Nightingale behind them. Aminata, Nightingale, and Tay Melo will face The Triangle of Madness on Collision.
- Grudge Match: MJF defeated Mark Briscoe by pinfall despite how Briscoe's foot was on the ropes (which the referee didn't see). MJF then took Briscoe out with the Dynamite Diamond Ring after the match. "Hangman" Adam Page came out to brawl with MJF.
