All Elite Wrestling presents AEW Dynamite tonight (January 22, 2025) out of the Knoxville Coliseum in Knoxville, Tennessee.
This post will be updated frequently to reflect live coverage of all the results for the matches, explanations of the promo segments, and any other important or noteworthy things that go down on the show. So be sure to keep refreshing this page to get the most up-to-date info on what's happening!
On tap for tonight's episode are a face-to-face meeting between Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega, a "first-time meeting" between Toni Storm and AEW Women's World Champion Mariah May, and the AEW World Tag Team Championship will be on the line as Zay and Quen defend against The Hurt Syndicate.
There are also a bunch of singles bouts on the lineup, with Death Riders' PAC against The Rated-R Superstar Cope, Julia Hart and Jamie Hayter II, Samoa Joe against Nick Wayne (after Joe's return last week to help HOOK fight off The Patriarchy), and Swerve Strickland against AR Fox.
Interestingly, the card is always subject to change, but due to weather issues and travel concerns, there is a possibility this lineup will have to change. Tony Khan has stated that he'll make adjustments if anyone is unable to make the show due to canceled flights or other problems.
Here are your results for AEW Dynamite 1/22/2025:
- Update before Dynamite: Samoa Joe vs Nick Wayne has been postponed for another date and pulled from this card.
- The show opens with Tony Schiavone bringing out Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega. They aired some grievances about each other. Omega doesn't really trust Ospreay, who wants to get into the title scene but keeps getting dragged back into Don Callis Family drama. Omega calls Ospreay a No. 2 compared to him, and eventually, Don Callis came out, setting up a trap for Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher to attack them. Omega and Ospreay manage to fight them off and we have a tag team match now set between those two against Fletcher and Takeshita at Grand Slam Australia.
- Tag Team Match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship: The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin, with MVP) defeated Private Party (Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy) by pinfall to win the titles.
- Toni Storm and Harley Cameron were interviewed backstage by Renee Paquette. Cameron wants to wrestle in Australia and is bummed she can't, but Storm says there's no reason why she can't and they then start throwing out very Australian colloquialisms and such.
- Jeff Jarrett cut a promo in the ring, telling a story about Jerry "The King" Lawler giving him some advice about not getting down to the same level as his opponent, which is what he did last week with MJF. He then called out Jon Moxley, only to get attacked by Claudio Castagnoli. Jarrett then put out a challenge that if he beats Castagnoli next week, he'll get a title shot.
- Singles Match: Swerve Strickland defeated AR Fox by pinfall. Ricochet held scissors up to Prince Nana's neck backstage and said that next week, everyone's going to have to hear what he has to say.
- In a New York Minute segment, Chris Jericho spoke about The Learning Tree's loss in the 12-man tag team match. Big Bill put out a challenge that he's going to find Will Hobbs, as Bill is the baddest in the injury.
- MJF cut a promo about how wrestling doesn't love Jeff Jarrett anymore, and he wanted to help Jarrett win the AEW World Championship because he knew he'd be the easiest to beat. Sometimes, it's better to make a deal with the devil than to defy him.
- "Hangman" Adam Page quickly squashed an enhancement talent and won by pinfall. After the match, Christopher Daniels came out in a neck brace to say the doctors have advised he never wrestles again, and he hopes Page can be happy now that he's won. Page seemed upset about this.
- Backstage, Renee Paquette asked Mercedes Mone what's next for her. On the topic of wrestling in Australia, Harley Cameron came by with a guitar to sing a song pitching that she should be the next challenger for the TBS Championship. Mone said no.
- Singles Match: Jamie Hayter defeated Julia Hart by pinfall.
- Backstage, Swerve Strickland was pissed and is looking to get his hands on Ricochet before their scheduled match
- The House of Black (Brody King, Buddy Matthews and Julia Hart) had a vignette saying that the voice of their leader has gone silent. Now, there are no rules, no leaders, no gods, no masters, just violence. When they bark, they bark together. (Note: The term "The Hounds of Hell" was recently trademarked, and they had a dog with them in this vignette.)
- Singles Match: Cope defeated PAC by pinfall. It was then shown that backstage, Death Riders had taken out FTR and The Rock N Roll Express, tying them up and giving a con-chair-to to Ricky Morton. They then surrounded Cope in the ring and went on the attack. "Switchblade" Jay White came out to make the save, but the numbers game was too much for him and Death Riders came out on top of the scrap.
