Preview & Predictions for AEW Dynamite:
On tap for tonight's episode, much of this is going to revolve around fallout from the big AEW All In: Texas event that took place this past Saturday. That was the biggest show of the year with some major developments, so we're going to be hearing from the two world champions at the very least as "Hangman" Adam Page talks about defeating Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship and "Timeless" Toni Storm does the same in regards to retaining her AEW Women's World Championship title over Mercedes Mone.
Page will also be in the main event as he teams with Mark Briscoe and Powerhouse Hobbs in a trios match against Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta. This feud with The Death Riders isn't over yet, even if it might just mean some lingering after-effects that need to be cleaned up.
I wholly expect the babyfaces to run into some trouble with someone like MJF, who is feuding with Briscoe and now holds the Casino Gauntlet contract that entitles him to a shot at Page's title in the future.
Will JetSpeed try to maintain that they deserve another tag team title opportunity? What repercussions follow The Patriarchy turning on Christian Cage and Adam Copeland's return to help him out? Will we hear from Athena about her Women's Casino Gauntlet win?
Obviously, more matches will be taking place, too, but those haven't been announced yet as of this publication for the preview side of things. So stay tuned and be sure to hang around at 8pm to find out all the results and everything else that transpires as we start the build to Forbidden Door!
Here are your results for AEW Dynamite - July 16, 2025:
- A promo from "Hangman" Adam Page opened the show about honoring the title and being thankful for the fans and for the people who helped him win the title.
- Kyle Fletcher defeated Mascara Dorada by pinfall.
- Earlier today, Renee Paquette met up with The Young Bucks for a quick interview. They didn't want to talk, mad about losing their EVP status. It turns out their private locker room is now changed from "EVP Locker Room" to just "Matt" and "Nick" locker room. Ricochet and The Gates of Agony came by to laugh at the situation. Don Callis also then rolled up, complaining that losing one match shouldn't make them be treated like a bunch of jobbers. He hypes up how they're the greatest tag team of all time. They say they're not ever going to join The Don Callis Family, but they can work together, and they'll team with Josh Alexander and Hechicero for another All Star 8-Man Tag later.
- MVP begged some more for a tag team to step up to Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin. MJF says he's happy that Hangman won the title as he gets to prove that he's the actual best. His contract is a "break glass in case of emergency". MJF is the physical embodiment of Hangman's depression. He has no problem being the bad guy to Page's main character, since nice guys finish last.
- All Star 8-Man Tag Team Match: The Don Callis Family's Josh Alexander & Hechicero and The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) defeated Bandido, Brody King, and JetSpeed ("Speedball" Mike Bailey & "The Jet" Kevin Knight) by submission with Hechicero making Bandido pass out.
- Promo: Adam Copeland didn't come back at All In to help out Christian Cage. He hopes he gets his head out of his ass, but he's actually here to get some revenge on FTR. Stokely Hathaway came out with some security to say that if Cope puts his hands on Dax Harwood or Cash Wheeler, he's going to be fired. The Rated-R Superstar mentions that Stokely never said he couldn't put his hands on him. Cope spears Hathaway and says he's going to end FTR.
- $100k 4-Way Fight: Thekla defeated Willow Nightingale, Kris Statlander and Queen Aminata. It seems Thekla is aligned with Julia Hart and Skye Blue.
- Promo from "Timeless" Toni Storm: She was interrupted by Athena and Billie Starkz. Next week, Storm faces Starkz on Dynamite.
- Nick Wayne called himself the new face of AEW and spoke about how he's going to win more titles and Christian Cage was past his expiration date.
- Kazuchika Okada squashed Rafael Quintero. Swerve Strickland came out had a confrontation with Okada, but they didn't come to blows.
- Trios Match: "Hangman" Adam Page, Mark Briscoe and Powerhouse Hobbs defeated The Death Riders (Claudio Castagnoli, Jon Moxley, and Wheeler Yuta) by pinfall. The Death Riders continued to beat down Page after the match out of anger. Darby Allin showing up in the rafters distracted Moxley and opened a window for Page to hit a Buckshot Lariat. Babyfaces stood tall at the end.
