Preview & Predictions for AEW Dynamite:
On tap for tonight's episode, "Hangman" Adam Page will defend the AEW World Championship against Jon Moxley, whom he beat at All In: Texas to win that title, in a match where everyone is banned from ringside. I'm hoping this is just a means to definitively end this feud and to allow Moxley to move on to something else while Page can move on to some new challengers outside of The Death Riders, and I expect that's where it will go. I don't think a title change makes any sense. Someone could attack Page after the match, though.
Athena and Billie Starkz beating "Timeless" Toni Storm and Alex Windsor, with Windsor taking the pin, is an option to try to build up Athena. However, I think Starkz taking the pin from Storm again is just as viable a scenario. It all depends what the priority is.
The Young Bucks losing to The Outrunners would get a big pop, and since there's a chance we get FTR against The Outrunners at the end of this tournament, that's currently where my mind is running.
I think Mark Briscoe only beats Ricochet if both Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun AND MJF all don't get involved. But since MJF is feuding with so many people at the same time, I think that feud with Briscoe might be over. Ricochet is still my pick to win, but it could go to Briscoe if need be.
Here are your results for AEW Dynamite - July 30, 2025:
- AEW World Tag Team Championship Eliminator Tournament Quarterfinals Match: The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) defeated The Outrunners (Truth Magnum & Turbo Floyd) by pinfall. Kazuchika Okada came out after the match to join The Young Bucks in beating down The Outrunners. Swerve Strickland made the save.
- Backstage, MJF knocked on The Hurt Syndicate's door, with Shelton Benjamin coming out to tell him the only reason he was around was because of MVP sticking his neck out, he knows the watch he gave him was a fake, and he's out of the group.
- Tony Schiavone invited Christian Cage to the ring. Cage says "My name is Christian Cage and I'm an asshole." He doesn't have a problem with Nick Wayne and Kip Sabian turning on him, but he does have a problem with them questioning him as they haven't earned the right to do that yet as he's spent more money on rental cars than they've made combined in their whole careers. He didn't stick with the plan because he wasn't confident that they could pull it off, so he took a risk. They wouldn't know about risk while they road his coattails. As far as the things that he said about Adam Copeland, "were they really that bad?" Copeland did some unsavory things himself over the years to get to the top. He and Copeland are so different, but they're also the same. He's found himself in holes in the past—none quite as deep as Mother Wayne—but he's always managed to claw his way out. Nick Wayne now has a dead father and a father who is dead to him. He disowns all of them. As Cage walked off, he was jumped by the Waynes and Sabian, who then gave him a Con-Chair-To.
- AEW World Championship Match (with everyone banned from ringside): "Hangman" Adam Page (c) retained over Jon Moxley by pinfall.
- Athena & Billie Starkz defeated "Timeless" Toni Storm & Alex Windsor by pinfall with Athena pinning Storm.
- Mark Briscoe defeated Ricochet by pinfall. After the match, Briscoe called out MJF, who attacked him from behind.
