WWE never gave Rusev the push he deserved, and even when it was clear that fans were 100% behind him with those "Rusev Day" chants, he was never allowed to rise up the card. Unsurprisingly, he decided to part ways with the company earlier this year and is now part of the All Elite Wrestling roster.
During his first promo on Dynamite, Miro addressed WWE and Vince McMahon's so-called "brass ring" and made it clear what they can do with it. Now, in an interview with Busted Open Radio, the Bulgarian Brute has opened up on what went into that.
"I’m usually very positive. But certain times, you put all your heart and soul into a certain thing and you don’t feel like it’s coming to fruition because of one reason or another," he explained. "It was so disheartening over the years so I saw Chris before the interview. I told him my idea and he said I should talk about the brass ring. I was like, do I ask for forgiveness after?"
"He said, 'No you don’t have to ask for anything. You just go ahead and do it. It’s a great promo.' I was shocked because I was so used to a different style. It was very important to say it because I actually meant all these things. Over the years I gathered all these emotions and I needed one little second to express my frustration for the past 10 years and now let’s move on. Let’s forget what we did. Let’s forget everything. Let’s start AEW Dynamite."
Clearly, Miro is now ready for a fresh start, and in the same interview, he explained how amazing it is that AEW allows him to promote his YouTube and Twitch streams, something WWE never allowed...likely because Vince isn't aware of that impact those platforms have!
