During the Zero Hour pre-show of AEW Dynasty 2025, Max Caster held another one of his trademark open challenges as of late.
Naturally, Caster wanted to get a chant going of "Let's go Max, you're the best wrestler alive" and didn't like how the crowd wasn't putting the right emphasis on anything, then upsetting the audience by revealing he was wearing a 76ers jersey of Ben Simmons to rile up the crowd and say that Philadelphia isn't as good as New York, where he's from.
But as soon as some new music hit and the screen popped up saying it was Anthony Bowens who was coming out for the open challenge, those smirks turned to a stunned face for Caster. Check out some footage of the match here:
Bowens was accompanied by Billy Gunn, who has been by his side despite the dissolution of The Acclaimed at AEW Collision: Maximum Carnage, which was the last time we had seen Bowens. As far as in-ring action, Bowens had previously last wrestled in general on the January 17th WrestlePro Wrestleprolooza event, but the last time he was in the ring betwen AEW ropes was alongside Caster in a losing effort on the Fight for the Fallen special of AEW Dynamite on January 1st.
This continues the losing streak for Max Caster, who has yet to win one of these open challenges, having previously lost to Mark Briscoe, HOOK, Konosuke Takeshita, "Switchblade" Jay White, Brody King, "Hangman" Adam Page, and RUSH so far this year. However, Caster has seen some success outside of AEW, winning a match against Brando Lee at Wrestling Open #166 on March 6th and capturing the WrestlePro Platinum Championship by beating Deonn Rusman at Wrestleprolooza on January 17th.
