Remember Scorpio Sky?

Believe it or not, he’s still one of the 120 plus wrestlers on the AEW roster. The last time Scorpio Sky wrestled on Dynamite was on July 06, 2022. That is not a typo. He dropped the TNT Championship to Wardlow that night. Sky’s last appearance on AEW programming was September 16, 2023; Sky lost to Andrade El Idolo on Collision that night.

Sky was taken off of television. Many suspected that it was due to injury, but the former TNT Champion cleared that up in an interview with Chris Van Vliet on Insight in July 2024.

I guess I've been in and out over the last couple of years. Some of it has been due to injury. Some of it due to bad luck. One thing I will say, there is a narrative out that I'm just this injury-prone guy. 'He's gone for a long time, he comes back, he gets hurt again.' That's not the case. I want to address that. I did get hurt about two years ago. I was okay within a couple of weeks.

The problem is, when you fall out of the rotation, we have so much talent, that it's hard to get back in the rotation. I compare it to a Ferris wheel. You're at the top at one point, but you know you're going to go down, and you have to wait your turn to get back up there. That's a little bit of what happened. I have had a couple of injuries over the last few years. For the most part, I've been healthy for 80% (of the time),"

It's been nearly a year since the interview and Sky still hasn’t appeared on AEW television. The reason? According to Sean Ross Sapp, the 41-year-old is healthy and ready to go, but Sky’s simply waiting for creative to give him something to do.

It’s a shame as it seemed that Sky was primed for a serious run as a singles star, but Tony Khan has seemingly lost interest in using the former TNT Champion. Sky was mostly out of action in 2024, but he’s been actively wrestling on the indie scene in 2025. The AEW star recently competed at House of Lucha: Nothing 2 Lose on February 21 against Moizilla. He lost the match.

Sapp doesn’t indicate whether the team has any plans for him in the future to return. We’ll just have to wait and see if he’ll come back to AEW television.
