The Righteous are done with AEW/ROH.
Originally members of the Ring of Honor brand before Tony Khan, The Righteous briefly left ROH for TNA/Impact Wrestling in 2021. The duo opted to leave TNA the following year and made their official return in 2023 at Supercard of Honor by confronting The Dark Order’s Evil Uno and Stu Grayson.
Since then, the duo has mainly been featured on the ROH brand. Vincent and Dutch have made AEW appearances here and there, but mainly as enhancement talent. The duo was embroiled in a feud with The Sons of Texas (Sammy Guevara and Dustin Rhodes) for the ROH World Tag Team titles late last year, but once their rivalry ended at Final Battle then their appearances in ROH became limited.
There seemed to be something interesting brewing when Elijah teased joining Vincent and Dutch, but nothing ever came to fruition. It’s not clear if there were genuine plans to put the former WWE star with The Righteous or not. The Righteous' final match in Ring of Honor was an eight-man tag team match with The Premier Athletes (Ariya Davari & Tony Nese) vs. The Spanish Announce Project (Angelico & Serpentico) & The Kingdom (Matt Taven & Mike Bennett) last month. The Premier Athletes and The Righteous won that match.
The Righteous had a lot of wins under their belt in AEW’s version of ROH, but the group was never used to their full potential. Even when they briefly paired with Lance Archer (another criminally underused talent) they still didn’t make much of an impact.
Vincent has actually been in Ring of Honor since 2012. He was one of the original members of The Kingdom. Vincent’s career in ROH was mainly in tag teams as he jumped from The Kingdom to The Righteous without much of a singles run.
Dutch didn’t start in ROH until 2021. The duo are former ROH Six-Man World Tag Team Champions. At this time, it’s not clear if Vincent and Dutch opted to not re-sign with the company or if AEW decided against renewing their contract. Either way, if The Righteous opts to remain a tag team then they would make a great addition to the WWE or TNA roster. Thus far, both men have remained silent over their departure from the promotion so their futures within the business remain uncertain.
